Terrakotta oil lamp
With black slip, a round nozzle and ring handle, the central discus framed by raised concentric rings and a band of tongue, moulded with a lovemaking scene, a kneeling man, on a bed or klinè, leans back, resting his weight on his right elbow, whilst he holds the left foot of his lover, the woman lying atop him with her head towards his feet, her upper torso turned towards the onlooker, her right hand touching her head, her left reaching out towards the man’s shoulder, a workshop signature on the circular base (Corinthian lamp , end of the 2nd to beginning of the 3rd century (Bussière, Wohl 2017, pp. 249-250, Getty Museum, Lamp 353))
