The spherical body, with straight neck and wide elliptical mouth, which is slightly closed thus forming a partial lid or cap. The body with vertical grooves and incised dotted band, two further bands encircle the base of the short cylindrical spout. The shoulder with a loop handle. An incised dotted band at the join of top of the neck and hooded mouth, the top of the mouth lid with dotted triangles.
Note
The vessel, with its gaping mouth, has a zoomorphic feel, perhaps evoking the head of a frog.
Other examples of similar three-legged cups have been found at Bisenzio, Tuscany. The handles sometimes support figurines. At least three other similar capped mouths have been recorded from this area.
